Merry Christmas Ethiopia

Ethiopia is one of the oldest nations in Africa. It still follows the ancient Julian calendar, so Ethiopians celebrate Christmas on January 7. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church's celebration of Christ's birth is called Ganna. It is a day when families attend church. (see Dec 20th post for more details)

It would of been so nice to have our daughter home by now. The wait is dragging so much. I just keep in mind, that by spring she will be home and probably will not miss this darn ice/snow storm that is currently in process. What a shock to her system if she came home in the middle of winter. So spring/summer will be much more kind to her! Our Social Worker is updating our documents to approve us for a child up to 3years old. We do not want troubles in Ehtiopia when its time to apply for her VISA, our current documents approve us for a 2year old. Our daughter is currently 21mths old. So every day she is getting older the wait becomes harder and documents need to be updated. March 16th is her adoption day, I would love to send a small amount of money for our Power of Attorney to take her and a few kids out to a special lunch, get her a dress and maybe some photos. I will inquire as March 16th becomes closer.
